The Music Hall

Situation

The Music Hall had recently completed a three year strategic plan that identified the need for a capital campaign. RSC was engaged to test the viability of $25 million comprehensive campaign to include capital, endowment, and continued annual giving,  with the bulk of the funds dedicated to enhancing the audience experience within the organization's Historic Theater.

Result

Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic with strong executive leadership and fiscal health, RSC Associates had particular interest in judging whether a campaign would erode annual support. In addition, thoughtful attention was paid to understanding how donors and patrons felt about  preserving the Historic Theater's architecture and design while also modernizing it for contemporary audiences and their needs.

RSC identified a successful path to The Music Hall’s goals via three complimentary efforts: a $15 million campaign targeting capital needs and seed funds for an endowment, the launch of a planned giving program for long-term endowment growth, and continued cultivation and stewardship programs to sustain recurring annual support.

Upon ratification of the approach, the Board retained RSC as campaign counsel and, with a compelling plan in place, secured two lead gifts of $1 million to launch the efforts with momentum.

What the Client Said

“RSC expertly conducted a Feasibility Study for The Music Hall that was thoughtfully crafted and executed. They took the time to get to know our organization, our goals, and our donor base. This service was provided at a cost that fit our budget and their findings were presented in a supportive and thorough report that identified a clear path forward. RSC was a true partner in this process.”
