While adored by its core audience, the Memphis Symphony struggled financially — nearly to the point of insolvency.  But with a deep commitment by new staff leadership (led by Roland Valliere), and the re-commitment of the key board and community leadership, the organization was quickly being rebuilt and revitalized.

There was no time to waste in improving the fundraising picture, and RSC was tapped to partner with the MSO to quickly organize and launch a high-yield annual fund.

After the successful completion of an emergency fundraising campaign and an organization restructuring, MSO retained RSC to re-energize the annual fund program as part of the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

With MSO organizational resources being minimal, RSC developed a plan that emphasized volunteer teamwork, a well-developed and inspiring case statement, the application of fundraising fundamentals, and an increased frequency in solicitations and stewardship.

Working closely with RSC, MSO had an extraordinary rebound season in 2014/15, surpassing all fundraising goals by 15% while adding hundreds of new donors and reengaging many lapsed supporters. RSC developed a growth annual fund plan with a new fundraising message, a revamped and expanded direct mail and telefund program, and focused board fundraising.
