Robert Swaney Consulting is delighted to announce the successful placement of Anne Cademenos as Senior Director of Development at Oakland Symphony following a national search.
Oakland Symphony, under Music Director Michael Morgan, is undergoing an organizational transformation, building its infrastructure to better serve the needs of its Easy Bay community.
“The addition of Anne as our new Senior Director of Development further enhances our executive leadership team to build and grow the Oakland Symphony’s financial resources,” said Dr. Mieko Hatano, Executive Director of Oakland Symphony.
Cademenos arrives with more than thirty years of leadership advancement experience, developed at premier Boston-area institutions such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Museum of Science, Peabody Essex Museum, and Harvard University.
“It is such an honor for me to join this nationally recognized organization. I look forward to working with the community of Oakland Symphony supporters to strengthen and expand the organization’s impact,” said Cademenos.
After relocating to Oakland in 2016, Cademenos led institutional fundraising at GRID Alternatives, an Emeryville nonprofit that works to expand access to solar energy and green jobs in under-resourced communities. She is passionate about the Oakland Symphony’s mission and programs, due in part to personal experience as a cellist dating back to high school when she played in the Kansas City Youth Symphony. More recently she served as a Board Member of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony, and she continues to play in community orchestras and chamber ensembles. She received her BA from Wellesley College, and MBA from Simmons School of Management.
